FAQ'S Questions we get asked daily
|
The following questions are meant to guide you through the basics of how
to get a tattoo. If we give an answer you don't like there is a valid reason.
We only make money if we tattoo you. If we actually talk you out of a bad
tattoo decision, we lose money. So if we tell you something you may not
want to hear, it really is so that you get a quality tattoo that will keep you
happy for a long time. That is our #1 priority.
1.Does it hurt?
Yes, there is some discomfort. Tattoos hurt a little. It's been described as being
scratched on a sunburn, or a cat scratch. Get the tattoo where you want it, not
where you think it will hurt the least. It's going to be there a long time.
2. How much is my tattoo going to cost?
Tattoos vary in price based on size, location, complexity of design, as well as the
difficulty and time it takes to do the tattoo. Unfortunately, it is impossible to give
a price estimate without actually seeing the design and talking to you in person.
Our shop minimum is $40. Please call and schedule a consultation a few days to a
week prior to when you actually want to get your tattoo so we can discuss all
the details of your piece. Average hourly rate is $100/hr, but can change
depending on the tattoo and the placement. We charge fair prices for quality work
DO NOT HAGGLE. If you have a budget, tell us and we'll try to work with you.
Don't attempt to play let's make a deal, and no, we don't care if "the other guy" is
cheaper.
3. Does the consultation cost any money?
Consultations are free. We do take a $20 deposit for the actual tattoo
appointment. That deposit goes towards the tattoo price. As long as you call to
reschedule within 15 minutes of your appointment you will not lose your deposit.
You must call within one day to cancel your appointment without losing your
deposit. No call, no show... NO DEPOSIT!
4. I don't know what I want, can you help me?
No. If you have absolutely no idea what you want, think about it. We are not in
the business of telling you what you should get. Odds are, our tastes are not your
tastes. Tattoos are unlike any other purchase in your life. You cannot trade
or resell them. They are worthless to everyone but you! Your friend's and family's
ideas/opinions DO NOT MATTER. This art is all yours FOREVER. Figure out
what you want first (fairy, dragon, robot, butterfly) and then come in and let us
show you all the options you have with the subject matter you like.
5. I need a cover up...
Call and schedule a consultation. Cover ups are complex tattoos that require
special attention. Expect a bigger tattoo. Be flexible in what you want. Contrary
to what you have been told, the cover up DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A BLACK
TRIBAL or a panther. Come in and discuss it with our artists.
6. Do I tip my artist?
Tipping is common practice. Think of it like any other service in that way. You
tip your hairdresser, so tipping your artist is considerate.
7. I want a white tattoo, can you do that?
White tattoos are not as great as you think. They generally look like scars and
fade extremely fast. They do not look like white, they sit under your natural
skin tone. So dark skin means dark, coffe colored "white" tattoo. We strongly
recommend against them because often they do not look like what the client
expects.Blacklight ink is an untested sucky gimmick. No reputable
tattoo ink company makes or sells it, so we won't put it in you.
8. Do you sell ink or "tat-guns"?
No. Don't ask. And no we won't tell you where to get them "tat-blasters" or
sweet glow ink.
9. I want to learn how to tattoo, can you teach me?
No.
